COUNT
A
The
COUNTA(range)
function will tally up the number of pieces of text data in a desired range
Go to cell B18 and apply the function
NOTES
Only cells that contain data will be counted (Try deleting one of the "apples")
COUNTIF
The
COUNTIF(
range, criteria
)
function will tally up the number of pieces that match the criteria
Criteria can be literal ("apples") but cell references (A21) are more flexible
Range can be defined by a range name (snacks)
